PRG, Inc., a Minneapolis-based nonprofit organization focused on providing affordable housing and eliminating racial disparities in housing, had worked with Center for Energy and Environment's One-Stop Efficiency Shop (One-Stop) to install free smart thermostats at their office in November 2023. PRG’s Executive Director and Real Estate Development Manager were also interested in replacing their aging rooftop units (RTUs) with more efficient equipment but weren’t sure what options were available for their facility. They got in touch with the One-Stop HVAC team to learn more.

KBOO Community Radio has been broadcasting from Portland, Oregon, since 1968. The independent volunteer-powered station operates 24 hours a day, every day of the year, providing music and news to nearly 70,000 weekly listeners in Portland, Mount Hood, Corvallis, Salem, and Vancouver, Washington.

Final Performance Case Study: Dual Fuel RTU Monitoring

The report evaluates the performance of two 15-ton Daikin Rebel dual fuel heat pump RTUs (RTU2F and RTU3F) installed on the roof of a mixed-use commercial building including healthcare and financial services. The units served the back zones of the second and third stories. Performance was monitored from October 19, 2023, to July 31, 2024, using remote data loggers.
